Report: Official says US to slap more sanctions on Russia Monday

WASHINGTON, Apr 16 (PRIME) -- The U.S. will blacklist the Russian companies that supplied technologies to Syria on Monday, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley told CBS News in an interview broadcast on April 15.

“So you will see that Russian sanctions will be coming down. Secretary (of the Treasury Steven) Mnuchin will be announcing those on Monday if he hasn't already and they will go directly to any sort of companies that were dealing with equipment related to Assad and chemical weapons use,” Haley said.

The U.S. accuses Moscow of covering up use of chemical weapons by the Syrian government army. Russia denies this.
